FO is a 2-3 week trip to a nation in the 1040 window. Teams there help to bring happiness to the locals by doing different ministries and serving them with cultural events and activities. In the past 6 years I've gone to Tunisia, Turkey, Jordan, Israel Palestine, North India, and Georgia (the country). Overseas mission ministry has taken a big part of my life. I have traveled to seven different countries for mission and experienced diverse cultures. It is very meaningful to me because those mission trips broke my stereotypes and taught me how to assimilate with others with different thoughts, norms, and ideas. Furthermore, my experiences from trips set my future career direction. When my mission team decided to serve Syrian refugees in Turkey, I was petrified because articles concerning crimes committed by Syrian refugees were pervasive. However, my desire to help others forced me to take a step into the refugee camp. When I realized the reality of the refugee camp, my heart was totally broken down and also amazed with the warmth of their heart. While they were short on everything, they welcomed strangers and willingly shared their food and shelter. This experience is very meaningful to me because it made be open-minded and cleared away my biases and stereotypes toward refugee
